The Feelies in Boston
15+ years later, I'm obsessed with The Feelies all over again. Deb and I went to see them on Saturday, and it was spectacular.
At one point in college, a girl I was similarly obsessed with asked me if I wanted to go to NYC with her on a particular weekend. I said, "Hmm, well, see, the thing is, The Feelies are playing at the Chestnut Cabaret that Saturday, so....."
"Oh, I see," she said.
At this point I could feel my roommate glaring at me. I looked over at him and he mouthed, "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING?"
"....But The Feelies will be back," I recovered. "So yeah, I'd love to go to New York with you." But it was a near thing. That's how great The Feelies were, and are again.
