Atheists identified as America’s most distrusted minority, according to new U of M study. To quote:

Atheists are also the minority group most Americans are least willing to allow their children to marry.

That might help explain a few things :)

To be fair (since I believe I'm probably the source of that link) it's from March. So still relevant data, but hardly cutting edge news. And yeah, you nailed one of the "better" comments.

Yeah well try being an agnostic, married to a Roman Catholic Portuguese wife, whose family's idea of social events are things like the Holy Ghost feasts, Christenings, and church weddings recited in Latin. Besides, I find it outrageous that Scientologists don't get that distinction. At least atheists keep their thoughts to themselves for the most part, unless prodded.

Yeah, John, I did that lift that link from you. While I do realize it isn't still news (since the current Internet news lifespan is 36 hours), I doubt the opinions of Americans have changed that much in the last six months.
