Flex 3 will be open source

The Flex world is abuzz today with the announcement from Adobe that the next version of Flex will be released as open source. While the Flex SDK already includes the source for the Flex framework components, this change will also provide the source for the compiler, debugger, and other SDK pieces. Moving forward Adobe also hopes to add community driven sub-projects and even allow people from the community to commit directly to the platform. A public bug database and repository will be part of the initial roll out with additional features being rolled out later. More information is available on the Adobe site.
